GEM Connect Leadership Cohort

Connecting the Detroit Region to the Advanced Mobility Ecosystem

GEM Connect helps people, organizations, and communities across the region find their way into the advanced mobility ecosystem by building understanding, relationships, and shared access to opportunity.

Advanced mobility is growing quickly across the Detroit region, but it can be hard to know where to start or how to connect. GEM Connect exists to make that easier by creating clear on-ramps through place-based learning, real relationships, and regional connection.

How GEM Connect Works

GEM Connect is a regional connector. It helps people understand how the advanced mobility ecosystem works and builds the relationships that make participation possible.

  • GEM Connect brings together a cohort of 35 to 50 participants from across the Detroit region.
  • Participants take part in immersive, in-person convenings hosted in different locations throughout the region.
  • Convenings include site visits, conversations with local leaders, and shared learning across sectors.
  • Over time, participants build the context, relationships, and confidence to help others navigate opportunities across the ecosystem.

What Participation Looks Like

  • Attend four in-person regional convenings focused on real projects and local work happening across the region.
  • Engage in site visits, small-group discussions, and peer learning with people from different sectors and geographies.
  • Share insights and perspectives that help build a more connected regional understanding.
  • Help extend what you learn by making connections and sharing information within your own networks.

Who GEM Connect Is Designed For

GEM Connect is for people across the Detroit region who are in a position to help others connect to opportunities in the advanced mobility ecosystem.

  • People who work with communities, organizations, or partners that could benefit from clearer access to mobility-related opportunities.
